As the festive season approaches, we are delighted to share that a number of FREE light switch-on events will be taking place both locally and in Central London. Whether you are out with friends, family, or just soaking in the atmosphere, there's something for everyone to enjoy. We love celebrating the spirit of community, and we hope these events bring a little extra joy to your winter evenings.

Greenwich

• Date: Wednesday, 19th November 2025
• Time: Lantern Parade at 4:00 PM, Lights On at 5:00 PM
• Location: Greenwich Market & Town Centre
• Highlights: Lanterns by schoolchildren, carols, brass band, festive food, and Cutty Sark mast lit like a Christmas tree.

Bexleyheath 

• Date: Saturday, 15th November 2025
• Time: Events from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Lights On around 4:30–5:00 PM
• Location: Bexleyheath Town Centre
• Highlights: Christmas market, live performances, funfair rides, and community countdown

Blackheath Village

• Date: Saturday, 29th November 2025
• Time: Festivities from 12:00 PM, Lights On at 4:30 PM
• Location: Montpelier Vale & Montpelier Green
• Highlights: Vintage car show, lantern making, Morris dancing, live music, carol procession, and blessing by Father Nicholas. Actor Nicholas Day will lead the countdown

Covent Garden

• Switch-on Date: Wednesday, 12th November
• Lights: 300,000 sparkling lights, gold bells, and a 55ft British-grown Christmas tree
• Extras: “The Theatre of Christmas” – 7 weeks of festive events

Marylebone Village

• Switch-on Date: Wednesday, 12th November
• Event Time: 3:00 PM–8:00 PM, lights on at 6:00 PM

Spitalfields Market
