Since its earliest beginnings in the early 20th century, this day has been rooted in courage and solidarity. What started as a movement demanding fair wages, safer working conditions, and the right to vote has grown into a global moment of recognition, reflection, and renewed commitment.

Across generations, women have challenged injustice, reshaped societies, and expanded the boundaries of possibility. Their leadership whether quiet or bold, public or unseen has fuelled progress in every corner of the world. Today, we honour those who paved the way, celebrate those who continue to drive change, and uplift the girls and young women who will define the next century of progress.

As a Trust committed to equity, opportunity, and aspiration for every young person, we recognise the particular importance of this day for our community at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls. In a school dedicated to empowering young women, International Women’s Day is not only a global celebration - it is a reminder of our shared responsibility to nurture confidence, ambition, and leadership in every student. It strengthens our collective purpose: to champion a world where every woman and girl has the freedom to live fully, lead confidently, and thrive without limits.

Today we are celebrating National Governors Awareness Day - a moment to recognise the volunteers who give their time, expertise and compassion to strengthen our schools within PolyMAT.

Governors play a vital role in shaping strategic decisions, championing pupil wellbeing, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every classroom, every safeguarding conversation, every moment of support for staff and families.

This day is about shining a light on the people who ask thoughtful questions, offer challenge with care, and hold our values at the centre of every decision. Their commitment helps create safe, ambitious and inclusive environments where young people can grow with confidence.

Below, you will find reflections from our governance team - each one offering a glimpse into why they serve, what they value, and the difference they hope to make.

We are incredibly grateful for everything they do to support our schools and the young people we serve.

The girls’ team finished in 15th place and the boys’ team in 16th place, separated by just a single point - a clear reflection of how closely matched, focused, and competitive the event was. Competing against grammar, private, and international schools, both teams demonstrated impressive mathematical ability, teamwork, and resilience throughout the day.

The Trust extends a huge thank you to the Premises Team for supporting with transport and remaining with the group for the entire day. Sincere thanks also go to the wider team for their invaluable support with logistics. Mr M. Barrett and Mrs F. Abdulsalam‑Mustafa are recognised for their ongoing commitment to supporting both teams every Tuesday.

Message from Ms Williams, Headteacher of Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls: “Well done! It is always wonderful to see our girls and boys working together. This was a great opportunity for them to showcase their skills and build their confidence. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this happen!”

Safer Internet Day 2026: Helpful AI Safety Resources for Parents and Carers

Safer Internet Day 2026 takes place on Tuesday 10 February, with the theme “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.” This theme reflects how artificial intelligence now shapes many aspects of children’s online lives, from personalised recommendations to voice assistants and homework tools.

To support families, we have gathered a collection of trusted UK-specific resources offering practical guidance, conversation ideas, and age-appropriate support.

Official Guidance from the UK Safer Internet Centre

The UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC) provides the key resources for Safer Internet Day 2026. Their dedicated hub includes advice on using AI safely, talking to children about new technologies, and supporting responsible digital choices at home.

Practical Advice and Conversation Starters

A parent-friendly information letter is also available. It explains how AI affects the information children see online, how AI may be used during homework, and the potential risks linked with misuse such as scams or manipulated images. It also provides conversation starters to help families approach the topic confidently.
Download the letter

ParentLine – UK’s AI Online Safety Assistant

ParentLine is the UK’s first AI‑powered online safety assistant for parents. It provides clear, practical guidance on online risks, apps, games, social media, AI tools, cyberbullying, privacy settings and more. It uses verified information from the NSPCC, Internet Matters and the UK Safer Internet Centre.

AI Safety Resources Designed for Parents

The London Grid for Learning (LGfL) offers specific materials to help families navigate generative AI. These include an explainer video, a downloadable parent letter, and a ready-made presentation for running parent information sessions.
LGfL resources

NSPCC – AI Safety Tips for Parents

The NSPCC provides trusted, expert‑backed tips on how AI tools work, what risks they pose to children, how to recognise AI‑generated content and how to talk to children about what they’re seeing online.

UNICEF – Guidance on AI and Children

Global guidance focused on children’s rights in the age of AI. Helps parents understand AI risks, child data protection, fairness, transparency and how global changes affect young people.

Why These Resources Matter

AI is increasingly present in children’s everyday digital interactions. Whether through search results, games, online platforms, homework support or social media, children often engage with AI without realising it. Providing families with accurate information and practical tools helps children:

Recognise when AI is being used

Think critically about information online

Understand the limitations and risks of AI

Make safe and responsible choices

These resources empower parents and carers to guide children confidently and support positive digital experiences.

Holocaust Memorial Day is a national day that takes place on 27 January. We commemorate the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, and the millions more murdered under Nazi persecution. Prejudice still continues today within our communities and across the UK. We also learn and commemorate where persecution led in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust has confirmed that the theme for HMD 2026 is “Bridging Generations”. This theme highlights the vital role each generation plays in carrying forward the memory of the Holocaust and more recent genocides. As survivors grow older, the responsibility to listen, learn, and share their stories becomes a collective act of remembrance and a commitment to building a safer, more compassionate future.

It encourages communities, schools, and organisations to explore how memory is passed on, how stories shape understanding, and how we can all contribute to safeguarding truth against distortion or denial.

It Began with Words – New Holocaust Memorial Day Film

It Began with Words explores how the Holocaust began not with violence, but with words, with stereotypes, prejudice and silence. Through survivor testimony and historical insight, it shows how ordinary people and everyday choices allowed hatred to grow. By understanding how the Holocaust unfolded, we can recognise the warning signs of prejudice today and use our voices to stand against it. Holocaust Memorial Day Trust | It Began with Words – New Holocaust Memorial Day Film

Receiving commendations from the Secretary of State for Education is an extraordinary achievement – one that reflects the unwavering commitment, expertise, and compassion demonstrated across both of our secondary schools.

This recognition is not given lightly.
This national commendation shines a light on the remarkable work happening across our Trust and the life‑changing impact our schools have on young people.

I started the final day of Bett by heading straight to the Arena for the first keynote, Developing digital literacy and student empathy in a world of infinite media. Aidan Kelly from Into Film shared how film can be such an accessible, powerful way to build empathy and critical thinking, especially when navigating algorithms, representation and the sheer volume of online content. The live poll asking “What is the biggest issue facing young people today?” really stood out – with anxiety coming in at 41%, it was a sobering but important reminder of the pressures our students face.

My next session was the one I’d been most looking forward to: Growing up online: Confronting misogyny and protecting young people. Laura Bates and Samantha Booth delivered an honest, challenging and incredibly insightful conversation about the rise of harmful online narratives targeting boys, the impact of biased algorithms, and the role schools can play in responding with empathy and clarity. Laura’s suggestion that we sign up to social platforms “as a teenager” to truly understand the content our young people are exposed to was particularly powerful. This was, without question, my favourite session of the week - full of practical ideas and thought‑provoking moments.

To round off the morning, I joined AI for all: From classrooms to careers, led by Aanya Niaz from the AWS Education Equity Initiative. The panel shared inspiring global examples of how AI is widening access to quality education, from real‑time classroom analytics to creative computing in low‑resource settings. It was an uplifting and practical look at how AI can genuinely expand opportunities for learners everywhere.

Attending events like Bett is always such a privilege, and it reinforces how important it is for us to keep learning, questioning and exploring new ways to strengthen and improve our Trust for the communities we serve.

Bett 2026: Day 1 Highlights

I headed straight to The Arena for my first keynote of the day, a completely packed session with Professor Hannah Fry and Amol Rajan. Their conversation explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping education, touching on personalised learning, ethics, and the importance of keeping human connection at the heart of teaching. The audience were fully involved too, with several thoughtful questions that added even more depth to the discussion.

Next up was Jason Wilmot’s keynote on how creativity and artificial intelligence are redefining what is possible in the classroom with Canva, offering fresh ways to spark curiosity and build future‑ready skills. He also introduced Canva’s Affinity, a new free design application featuring customisable Vector, Pixel, and Layout studios - essentially all the design and photo‑editing tools you need in one place.

Using Canva every day for our trust‑wide design projects means Affinity will slot perfectly into my workflow, and I am really looking forward to getting stuck in and exploring what it can do.

After the session, I headed to the Canva stand for an insightful demonstration, some great conversations with their advisors, and even managed to bag myself a sketchy notebook and pencil from their free vending machine!

Another highlight was the BBC Education stand, which once again delivered a brilliant range of resources, including their 2025/2026 year planner. It is something I have picked up in previous years because it is incredibly practical, making it easy to mark key educational dates and feed them straight into our school calendar.

All in all, it was a day full of inspiration, useful tools, and plenty of ideas I am excited to be bringing back to our trust.

Greenwich has emerged as the strongest-performing borough in south‑east London, according to the latest Department for Education results. With 72 per cent of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths during the 2024–2025 academic year, Greenwich sits well ahead of Bromley, Southwark, Lewisham and Bexley.

This year’s outcomes highlight a borough where high achievement is widespread, consistent and deeply embedded across its schools. Greenwich’s performance places it firmly at the forefront of primary education in the region.

Bannockburn Primary School stands out within a high‑achieving borough.

Among the many strong results across Greenwich, Bannockburn Primary School achieved 73 per cent, placing it securely within the borough’s upper-performing schools. The school’s success reflects its commitment to high‑quality teaching, strong leadership and a culture that supports every child to thrive.

As a trust, we are incredibly proud to have Bannockburn as part of our family of schools, and its performance this year is a testament to the dedication and expertise of its staff and community.

Why Greenwich’s results matter

To meet the expected standard, pupils must achieve the benchmark in all three subjects, reading, writing and maths, making these figures a robust indicator of overall attainment. Greenwich’s ability to outperform every neighbouring borough demonstrates:

a stronger overall educational landscape

more schools exceeding national expectations

greater consistency across the borough, not just isolated high performers

This year’s results reinforce Greenwich’s position as a borough where educational excellence is the norm.

As families across Greenwich begin preparing for the September 2026 primary school intake, the application deadline of Thursday 15th January is fast approaching. It’s an exciting milestone for every child - and a significant decision for every parent/carer. At PolyMAT, we know how important it is to find a school where your child will feel safe, inspired, and supported from day one.

Greenwich is home to a wealth of exceptional primary schools, each offering something special. From early reading to creative arts, from outdoor learning to pastoral care, Greenwich schools are committed to giving every child the strongest possible start.

A rich curriculum that blends creativity, challenge, and real‑world learning.

Strong values that shape confident, kind, and resilient young people.

A welcoming, diverse community where every family feels included and supported.

The school’s two‑site structure allows for spacious learning environments, specialist areas, and a sense of belonging that grows with each year group. As part of PolyMAT, Bannockburn benefits from shared expertise, collaborative innovation, and a trust‑wide commitment to excellence.

If you are exploring primary school options for your child, Bannockburn Primary School is a fantastic choice to consider - a place where children are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and become the very best version of themselves.

Don’t Miss the Deadline!

Cold mornings can be tough, so here are a few simple ways to look after yourself during the winter months:

Top Tips for Staying Warm This Winter:

Wear your blazer and coat: These are part of your uniform for a reason - they help keep you warm on the way to and from school. Please make sure you are wearing both during colder weather.

Layer up: Wearing several thin layers is more effective than one thick layer, helping to trap warm air close to the body.

Bring your winter essentials: Hats, gloves, scarves, and warm socks make a big difference on cold mornings.

Eat something warm: A hot drink or breakfast can make a big difference to your energy and focus.

Eating Vegan on a Budget

Here are ten practical tips to help you keep costs low while enjoying delicious vegan meals:
1. Cook from scratch. Ready-made meals and sauces are convenient but expensive. Simple one-pot dishes can be made in 30 minutes or less and save money.
2. Stock up on tinned food. Tinned tomatoes and beans are versatile and form the base of many meals such as pasta, chilli, curries, and soups.
3. Buy dry goods. Lentils, rice, and grains are affordable staples that add protein and variety. Keep large bags in your cupboard for quick, nutritious meals.
4. Buy in bulk. If you have storage space, bulk-buying essentials like grains and beans saves money over time.
5. Choose local veg boxes. These can be fresher and cheaper than supermarket produce, often with less plastic and better seasonal options.
6. Shop around. Prices vary between stores. Compare costs for staples like beans and vegetables to get the best deals.
7. Cook big dinners. Making larger portions reduces waste and provides leftovers for lunch, saving time and money.
8. Make your own dips. Homemade hummus, salsa, and guacamole are cheaper and taste better than store-bought versions.
9. Use frozen vegetables. They are nutrient-rich, affordable, and perfect for curries, stir-fries, and smoothies.
10. Remember the basics. Simple meals like baked potatoes, beans on toast, and tomato soup are cheap, easy, and satisfying.

Today marks our five-year anniversary on YouTube. We launched the channel on 11 December 2020, at a time when the world looked very different. Since then, it has grown into a vibrant platform that showcases the creativity, achievements, and spirit of our schools, staff, students, and communities.

Over the past five years we have:

Reached 122,000 views - a fantastic audience for a school and community channel

Achieved 1,900 hours of watch time - that is nearly 80 full days of continuous viewing!

Shared 187 videos, each one carefully crafted to capture special moments and celebrate our community

These numbers are more than just statistics - they show that people are not only watching, but truly engaging with our content. For a channel dedicated to education and community life, this level of reach and consistency is something we are incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who has watched, supported, and contributed along the way. Here’s to the next chapter of creativity, connection, and celebration!

What does this mean for our schools and families?

The Autumn Budget 2025 has confirmed what many in our community have long hoped for: the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will be extended to Thamesmead. This landmark decision, backed by Transport for London (TfL), the Greater London Authority (GLA), and the Government, represents a generational investment in connectivity, regeneration, and opportunity for South East London.

For our Trust, which proudly serves two schools in Thamesmead and one in Plumstead, the announcement is more than a transport upgrade - it is a catalyst for educational, social, and economic transformation.

What the DLR Extension Means for Our Schools

Improved Access for Families and Staff - Thamesmead has long been the only London postcode without a direct rail service. The arrival of the DLR will dramatically improve accessibility for families, staff, and visitors to our schools. Reduced travel times and better connections will make our schools more attractive to prospective families and staff, strengthening recruitment and retention.

Enhanced Opportunities for Students - Reliable transport links open doors. Our students will gain easier access to cultural, academic, and professional opportunities across London. By connecting our young people to museums, universities, and work placements, the DLR will enrich experiences and fuel aspirations.

Supporting Regeneration and Growth - Thamesmead is already recognised as one of London’s largest regeneration areas, with plans for new homes, jobs, schools, culture, and green spaces. The DLR extension underlines this potential, ensuring our schools are at the heart of a growing, thriving community. For Plumstead, the ripple effects of regeneration in neighbouring Thamesmead will bring new families, investment, and opportunities.

A Trust Perspective: Building Resilient Communities

As educators, we know that infrastructure shapes lives. The Elizabeth Line has already transformed Woolwich, and we are excited to see similar momentum in Thamesmead. The DLR extension will not only connect our schools more effectively to the rest of London but also reinforce our mission to deliver inclusive, high-quality education in communities that are growing and evolving.

We welcome the Government’s recognition of Thamesmead’s potential. Our schools stand ready to play a central role in this exciting new chapter.

Looking Ahead

Tim Plumb, CEO of PolyMAT, comments: ‘The Trust celebrates this funding commitment as a decisive step toward a brighter future for Thamesmead. For our students, the DLR extension is not just about trains – it is about connection, ambition, and possibility. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Thamesmead: the DLR extension will not only transform transport links but also unlock new possibilities for our students, families, and staff. With this investment, our schools will be better connected, our families better supported, and our young people better prepared to thrive in a changing London. This is about building futures, not just stations.’

The Trust celebrates this funding commitment as a decisive step toward a brighter future for Thamesmead. We look forward to engaging with families, staff, and community partners to maximise the opportunities this project will bring. For our students, the DLR extension is not just about trains - it is about connection, ambition, and possibility.

When Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, many of our staff, students, and families were directly impacted. In true Woolwich Poly spirit, our community came together with compassion, creativity, and generosity to make a difference.

On 14th November, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls hosted a vibrant fundraiser filled with Bob Marley’s music, joyful dancing, and unity in green, gold, and black. This event raised £465, alongside further family contributions.

On 26th November, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys held “A Taste of Jamaica” - an extraordinary evening featuring home-cooked dishes, lively music, a quiz, and raffle prizes. Thanks to the dedication of staff and sixth form students, this event raised an incredible £2,251.92.

Together, our schools raised a grand total of £2,716.92 in aid of the Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund.

This achievement is a testament to the strength of our community - from those who donated prizes, shared their cooking talents, gave their time, and most importantly, gave so generously. Every penny will go directly to support those affected.

We are proud to celebrate this collective effort and grateful to everyone who made it possible. 💛💚🖤

Every year, from 20th November to 20th December, the UK observes Disability History Month (UKDHM) - a time dedicated to recognising the struggles, achievements, and contributions of disabled people throughout history. Established in 2010, UKDHM shines a light on the ongoing fight for equality and human rights, while encouraging society to challenge ableism and create inclusive spaces for all.

What Is Disability History Month?

UKDHM is more than a commemorative event; it is a movement. It aims to:

Celebrate the resilience and achievements of disabled individuals.

Educate about historical injustices, from institutionalisation to eugenics.

Advocate for systemic change, ensuring disabled voices lead conversations about rights and inclusion.

The month also aligns with key international observances such as World AIDS Day (1 Dec), International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 Dec), and Human Rights Day (10 Dec), reinforcing the global nature of disability rights.

Theme for 2025: “Disability, Life and Death”

This year’s theme, Disability, Life and Death, addresses pressing ethical and social questions surrounding assisted dying legislation currently debated in Parliament. Many disabled activists fear that such laws could undermine their right to life, echoing historical prejudices that once justified sterilisation, euthanasia, and exclusion under the guise of “mercy.”

The theme calls for reflection on:

The inherent value of disabled lives, as affirmed by Article 10 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Historical lessons, from Nazi-era atrocities to the eugenics movement, remind us why vigilance against discriminatory ideologies remain vital.

How Is It Celebrated?

Across the UK, organisations, schools, and communities host:

Educational events: Panels, lectures, and workshops exploring disability rights history.

Arts and culture programmes: Exhibitions like the V&A’s Design and Disability showcase the creative contributions of disabled artists.

Campaigns and activism: Trade unions, charities, and grassroots groups amplify disabled voices, demanding better access and inclusion in workplaces and public life.

Digital resources, storytelling projects, and social media campaigns also play a huge role in spreading awareness and fostering dialogue nationwide.

Why It Matters

Disability History Month reminds us that progress is not guaranteed. While landmark laws such as the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) and the Equality Act (2010) have advanced rights, systemic barriers persist. UKDHM is a call to action: to dismantle ableism, prioritise accessibility, and ensure that disabled people are not only included but empowered to lead.

Get Involved

Visit UKDHM.org for resources, event listings, and educational materials. Whether you attend a local event, share stories online, or advocate for inclusive policies, your participation helps build a society where every life is valued equally.

This festive season, it truly shines.

A Festive Hub of Activity
From the Greenwich Lantern Parade and Christmas Light Switch-On on November 19 to the enchanting Greenwich Christmas Market, the borough is alive with seasonal magic.

Woolwich Polytechnic School is delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of former student Kaycee Mbette, who has earned a full football scholarship to Bradfield College, one of the UK’s premier sporting institutions.

Kaycee exemplifies the values of a true Poly Boy - humour, compassion, kindness, and resilience. His exceptional football talent, combined with determination and a positive attitude, has opened doors to opportunities that will last a lifetime.

Reflecting on his journey, Kaycee shared:
"I started Year 11 without a clear idea of what my next step after GCSEs would be. Many said it was too late for a football career, but I stayed strong and kept working hard. When Mr Walsh selected me for a trial at Bradfield College, I was shocked by the facilities and the chance to make it there. A week before my first GCSE exam, I got the call saying a space had opened for a scholarship - I was over the moon! I focused on my exams, worked hard, and shortly after, I was offered a full scholarship."

Kaycee now trains four times a week while studying for his A Levels and has already competed against prestigious colleges such as Eton. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Woolwich Poly staff, especially Mr Walsh, for their unwavering support:
"I will never forget what they have done for me - I couldn’t have done it without them. My message to younger students is simple: never give up and take every opportunity given to you!"

Miss R James, Head of Year:
"Kaycee has always been the epitome of a Poly Boy. His humour, compassion, kindness, and resilience have shone through in everything he does. His exceptional talent and determination have led him to an incredible scholarship at Bradfield College. We could not be happier for him."

This achievement highlights Woolwich Polytechnic School’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting students to reach their full potential - both academically and beyond.

Today marks World Kindness Day, an annual event led by Kindness UK to inspire us all to make kindness a natural part of everyday life. Kindness is more than a simple act - it’s a powerful force that improves mental health, strengthens relationships, and creates a ripple effect of positivity across communities.

At PolyMAT, kindness is at the heart of our values. We believe that small acts of compassion can create big changes in our schools and communities. Today, we encourage every student, parent, and staff member to take a moment to show kindness – whether through words, actions, or simply a smile. Together, let’s make kindness a habit, not just for today, but every day.

Why does kindness matter?

It reduces stress and anxiety

Write a thank-you note to someone who helps you

Hold the door open for others

It is a time for reflection - a moment to remember those who gave their lives, those who returned forever changed, and the generations who continue to carry their legacy.

Across our schools, we are marking this important occasion through assemblies, creative tributes, and moments of silence, encouraging thoughtful engagement and respect.

We are also proud to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, with poppies being sold throughout our school communities.
In the lead-up to 11th November, we invite our community to reflect on the values of peace, unity, and gratitude. Let us come together to remember - and to reaffirm our commitment to building a future shaped by compassion and hope.

London Trust Leaders Network Gathers at Drapers’ Hall for Insightful Autumn Session

On Tuesday 7th October, the London Trust Leaders Network (LTLN) convened once again for a dynamic morning of discussion and collaboration at the stunning Drapers’ Hall in London. The event brought together senior education leaders from across the capital to explore key developments in policy, planning, and inclusion.

The morning began with refreshments and informal networking from 9:30am, before the agenda officially opened at 10:00am with a session led by Alan Parnum, Acting Regional Director at the Department for Education, who was joined by colleagues Dominic Riddex and Judith Fuller. Together, they provided a comprehensive overview of current headlines in education, pupil place planning, and strategies for mainstream inclusion. Their insights were followed by a contribution from Matt Jones, RISE Advisor, who added further depth to the discussion with practical strategies and sector-wide perspectives.

Following a short break at 11:30am, attendees heard from Steve Rollett, Deputy CEO of the Confederation of School Trusts (CST), who provided valuable updates on national policy and the evolving landscape of trust inspection.

Reflecting on the event, several founding members and attendees shared their thoughts:

Tim Plumb, CEO of PolyMAT:
“The strength of the London Trust Leaders Network lies in its ability to bring together diverse voices and experiences. Events like this allow us to stay ahead of policy changes and ensure our schools are best placed to support every child.”

Matthew Kleiner-Mann, CEO of The Ivy Learning Trust:
“Having the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and tackle shared challenges with fellow trust leaders is what makes the LTLN so impactful. These moments of genuine connection are where real progress begins.”

Sian John, Chief Talent Officer at E-ACT:
“It is so exciting to see how the LTLN continues to grow. We are expanding our reach and connecting with more leaders-especially through LinkedIn. The momentum we are building is a reflection of the passion and commitment across our sector.”

Gill Kemp, CEO of University Schools Trust:
“It was lovely to be back at Drapers’ Hall. Thanks to a valued contact from our Trust, we’re fortunate to be able to host an LTLN event here annually. The setting adds a sense of occasion and tradition that perfectly complements the forward-thinking spirit of our discussions.”

The LTLN was established by Gill Kemp, Matthew Kleiner-Mann, Tim Plumb, and Sian John—leaders who envisioned a collaborative space for London-based trust leaders to share best practice, influence policy, and drive meaningful change across the education sector.

The atmosphere throughout the morning was one of genuine engagement and shared purpose. We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming colleagues to Drapers’ Hall and look forward to even more trust leaders joining us for the next LTLN event.

There is something truly special about this time of year. As autumn settles in, the green spaces surrounding our secondary schools in Thamesmead are transforming into a patchwork of crunchy leaves and warm colours, making the walk to school feel a bit more magical.

With October half term just around the corner, it is the perfect time to pause and reflect on the progress our students have made and what we have achieved so far this term.

We are also putting together a list of free local and London-based events happening during the half-term break - a great way for families to explore, relax, and make the most of the season. We look forward to sharing this with our school community next week.

Here’s to a restful break ahead!
